Project Overview
Integrated Builders completed the adaptive reuse of the Emerson Lofts at 22 Cottage Street in Cambridge, MA, transforming a 1909 three-story brick mill building into 16 eco-friendly loft condominiums with high-end contemporary finishes. The project included installation of all new utilities and mechanical systems, a new passenger elevator, enhanced noise and weather insulation, and fully accessible corridors and public spaces. The top floors feature five skylit flats, two of which boast 11-foot ceilings. The front entrance is accented with a corrugated metal fascia leading to a common interior staircase and elevator. Notably, 95% of the building’s original brick and timber structure was meticulously restored and reused.
From a Client’s Point of View
"Integrated Builders was selected for this project because the company is committed to the health of clients, buildings, occupants, and the planet-at-large. Green, sustainable design is not just a trend for them, but also a pledge they make that their buildings will meet the highest quality environmental standards."
