GE Healthcare | Manufacturing Expansion
Owner: GE Healthcare
Architect: Woodbrier Associates, BKA Architects
Location: Westborough, MA
Size: 75,600 SF
Project Overview
This multi-tiered construction initiative comprised five distinct phases for G.E. Healthcare's office in Southborough, MA. Phase One began with a 10,000 SF build-out, including new offices, laboratories, manufacturing, and warehouse spaces. This was followed by an extensive interior fit-up, encompassing 75,600 SF within G.E. Healthcare’s existing 100,000 SF one-story facility. This phase featured comprehensive construction of additional laboratories, manufacturing and warehouse areas, offices, and various critical support spaces, such as the firm's reception area, employee break room, and multiple conference rooms designed to optimize operational efficiency and employee collaboration. The project later expanded to include a solvent storage area, which required sophisticated systems, including specialized air monitoring and leak detection equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and enhancing overall facility functionality.
