Integrated Builders announced that it has been awarded an exterior renovation project on behalf of Intrum Corp at 180 Wells Avenue in Newton, MA. The construction on the façade of the 54,000 square-foot office building commenced in June and is expected to last until November 2016. The team includes Project Manager Jay Dacey, Assistant Project Manager Barbara Frazier, and Project Superintendent Jerry Colavecchio. The modern exterior design was provided by Elkus Manfredi Architects.
The project at 180 Wells Avenue includes updates to the façade of an occupied office building. The renovation on the 5,500 square-foot exterior involves the removal of the perimeter and requires the installation of temporary walls. The construction team will remove the pre-cast concrete fins, and replace it with modern clear span curtain walls and glazing. In addition, the construction will involve the movement of sewer and water lines to accommodate proposed landscaping around the perimeter of the building. Furthermore, the aesthetics surrounding the building will be improved with the installation of a concrete paved courtyard that includes two fire pits for tenant use.
The project owner, Intrum Corp, is a private real estate development firm located in Newton Center that manages properties in the Greater Boston Area. Its asset, 180 Wells Avenue, is located near Route 95 and Route 9 near the Mount Ida College campus. The office building is also situated near popular restaurants and retails stores.
