Description

Provide full estimating support for large commercial construction projects across the Northeast, including conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, bid analysis, and pricing for GMP and lump-sum proposals. This role partners closely with the project team, design partners, and clients to provide accurate cost and schedule feedback, identify value opportunities, and support confident decision-making from early concept through final pricing.

Requirements

The Senior Estimator provides full estimating support for large commercial construction projects across the Northeast, including conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, bid analysis, and pricing for GMP and lump-sum proposals. This role partners closely with the project team, design partners, and clients to provide accurate cost and schedule feedback, identify value opportunities, and support confident decision-making from early concept through final pricing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop conceptual estimates and early-stage budgets; provide cost and schedule feedback to support preconstruction planning.
  • Produce, coordinate, and manage estimating deliverables for proposed projects, including quantity takeoffs, pricing, and scope alignment.
  • Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier bids for completeness, schedule compliance, and conformance with project requirements and specifications.
  • Prepare GMP and lump-sum pricing, including alternates, options, allowances, and special studies as needed.
  • Provide value engineering recommendations based on design intent, constructability, and budget and schedule goals.
  • Lead cost and budget presentations to clients/owners and support pricing strategy discussions with internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate closely with the design and project teams to ensure scope clarity and accurate estimating assumptions.
  • Partner with Marketing to prepare clear, professional estimating documentation in response to RFPs and pursuits.
  • Support subcontractor/vendor document management and assist with subcontractor prequalification efforts.
  • Maintain current knowledge of construction materials, pricing trends, and market conditions; apply insights to estimating accuracy.
  • Ensure estimates align with applicable codes, specifications, quality standards, and project constraints.
  • Follow Integrated Builders policies and procedures and contribute to consistent estimating best practices.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of estimating experience on commercial, industrial, and/or institutional projects above $25M.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong understanding of design-build and construction management delivery methods.
  • Working knowledge of estimating, bidding, purchasing, subcontractor negotiations, and construction technology.
  • Ability to interpret plans/specs, develop quantities and costs, and evaluate constructability and completeness of documents.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work under changing conditions and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with PlanSwift (or similar takeoff software) and Microsoft Excel, Word, and MS Project.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively across teams and with clients.
  • Self-starter mindset with strong problem-solving, listening, and critical thinking skills.
