Integrated Builders announced that it has completed an exterior renovation on behalf of Intrum Corporation at 180 Wells Avenue in Newton, MA. Integrated Builders’ team included Project Manager Jay Dacey, Assistant Project Manager Barbara Frazier, and Project Superintendents Jerry Colavecchio and Mike Croteau. The modern exterior design was provided by Elkus Manfredi Architects.
The exterior renovation at 180 Wells Avenue was challenging due to Itrum’s requirement for substantial completion within a 5-month schedule. It was further complicated because the multi-tenant building was occupied throughout construction. Integrated started with the extraction of the existing concrete fins, and installed temp walls to accommodate tenants and prevent disruption. The firm then performed a complete re-skinning of the exterior which included a 3-story floor to ceiling curtain wall system, decorative ACM panel, and a new lighting system. The sewer and water lines were relocated to make room for upcoming landscaping around the perimeter. The firm also provided a central tiered courtyard feature with fire pits, and integrated seating. Last, there is a second phase anticipated in late 2017 that will include the ground-up construction of a 60,000 s.f. interconnected Class A office building which will feature an all glass exterior and private tenant terraces.
