Integrated Builders completed a 5,800 square-foot (s.f.) fitness center within the campus at MACOM Technology Solutions in Lowell, Massachusetts. This project follows the 60,000 s.f. office expansion to MACOM’s headquarters the construction management firm completed in November 2018.
The team included Project Manager Robert Purdy, Assistant Project Manager Barbara Frazier, and Project Superintendent Peter Barbosa. Spagnolo Gisness & Associates (SGA) was responsible for the architectural design and WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff was the MEP/FP Engineer on the project.
The new fitness center was constructed in an existing steel and metal panel building located at 121 Hale Street. The construction management team renovated the former storage space within the one-floor building to create a new fitness center for the organization’s employees to utilize. The work included the installation of new partitions for restrooms, locker rooms, a studio, and open exercise area. There were all new windows and doors installed. There were also new finishes and equipment added to the space. Integrated implemented updated mechanical, electrical, and fire protection connections to ensure the space is sprinklered throughout.
MACOM Technology Solutions is situated near Route 495 which makes it a convenient location for commuters in the North Shore region. It is also near UMass Lowell, several other corporate offices, retail stores, and restaurants.
